July Goals

It is Half Time of 2018!!

How are those New Years Resolutions going?

Still heading in the right direction?

Or did you lose your way around mid February and haven’t been avoiding thinking about your goals since?
Well, consider this your official wake up call!
What do you want for yourself?
Your business?
Your health?

It is one thing to decide you do not like the status quo, to come up with a plan is something else entirely.
How are you going to get there?

It is so easy to complain about what you do not like to be in action, is to be operating on a higher level, but there is risk involved. To actually try and not succeed isn’t as safe as not trying at all on a weird subconscious level, and that is why so many of us don’t even really try.

One of my favorite all time movies, a complete 80s throw back is “Say Anything”. For those of you have forgotten the set up, the world’s best teenage rom-com boyfriend Lloyd Dobler was dumped by his girlfriend, Diane. Heartbroken, he is wandering around Seattle trying to figure out what to do about it.

He runs into some of his opinionated acquaintances at the local gas station who are full of awful ideas about how he should handle the dilemma. They suggest things such as finding a girl who looks just like her, dating her and dumping her. Another one throws in that it is all about economics with women.

Finally in frustration, Lloyd says “I got a question. If you guys know so much about women, how come you’re here at like the Gas ‘n’ Sip on a Saturday night completely alone drinking beers with no women anywhere?”
Nameless friend “By choice, man. A conscious choice”

Now, ignoring the silliness of the cast of characters one might find at a Gas ’n’ Sip on a Saturday night, the concept of a conscious choice is important during the half time act of 2018.
It might not be as exciting as the Super Bowl show (side note, Lady Gaga is still one of my top recent favorites), recommitting to our New Years Resolutions goals, or making Mid year Goals is a valuable use of your time.

What have you been putting off?

What will you recommit to?

What scares you to write down?

What will you make a conscious choice to change during the last half of 2018?
